Today was alot of information and putting it all together like I used to do.
I'm trying to make sure I get fish kills and where they were and all about them in the Indian Ocean. Hopefully mine and Carrie's idea to put these on google earth will help to make it more interactive and interesting.
I realized these have been getting shorter, I'm doing just as much work but I think I've already wrote about it.
Tomarrow is friday!!! =) and payday ;)
have a good one
today I researched more about fish kills and gonu
I also talked to some people from Kuwait
One answered but he didn't know what was going on because he moved there from America
and the girl hasn't answered yet
That's about it for today
It was slow and quiet
Nothing exciting
My graphs and their descriptions are complete! wahoo!
Now I'm just watching the clock for the end of the day because I didn't really wanna start something today that I'm gonna stop right in the middle of. Tomarrow I will start working on fish kills in the Arabian Sea.
The kids that I have been talking to kind of came to a dead end so I've been trying to get ahold of new people. I'm hoping it will all work out.
Not much to say really.
Going to see my best friend, good break from work.
Have a good one.
In seems to me that most research has an end. Like a point where you can't go any further because you can't find one peice of information, or usually in my case my main website is down. I wonder why is it that I'm doing the research for countries across the world when I can't even get an insider look on what's happening there, and if I come to a dead end I can't just go ask someone because usually if I can't find it then there isn't much information out there.Don't get me wrong, I'm interested now in what I'm researching. I just don't get why people there can't do this or why Americans can't teach them how to do it on their own.So anyway, today I fixed up my graphs some more and compared them to other data. Carrie and I also tried to find GDP for fisheries in the countries but we just can't find them, hence dead end, well atleast on that aspect of the research. That's about it today, I'm gonna go home and sleep, I'm exhausted.Have a good one.
When I first got in to work this morning I checked my email like I normally do, and the boy from Kuwait that I talk to had sent me and email:in the last few years.. there's talk of nuclear pollution in the sand of the deserts around Kuwait due to the American army's use of nuclear enriched weapons in its war against Iraq... and sand storms are getting worse every year. Its lasting for months now rather than days.
The winter is not like it used to be.. many people are witnessing that winter is so much colder than ever before. This has been a very unique winter.. certain parts of Saudi Arabia got snow.. even though the Arabian peninsula is one of the extremely dry deserts of the world. That's all he really knows about stuff in Kuwait. He showed me pages to go to for Kuwait newspapers. I'm not sure if it's just him that doesn't know about it or everyone.we'll see.Other than that today has been a pretty uneventful day. I finished up my charts and Carrie helped me fix them up.Now I get to leave due to the holiday, and that makes me happy. So happy independence day weekend everyone!
Today was very productive. I have successfully made about 10 data graphs in excel. I did all of the research myself and then about 5 minutes ago Carrie tells me that there is a website that has all the graphs and all the things we've been looking for. First reaction, are you kidding me?! Then I realized (with Carrie's help) that it's good for me to get experience figuring these things out for myself. If I just had a site to tell me everything then I wouldn't have learned how to put my data in graphs on excel and I wouldn't know how to find the information. I've decided that it's always good to broaden your horizons. For one thing, know more than one place to get your information and then know how to put it to use, which by the way is basically what I'm doing here. That's what I've done today. One more day until this week is over and I have a 3 day vacation WOOT WOOT. Have to add for a positive aspect on my job, today did go by faster. I think I just need lots of busy work not all research and read this. Something that takes knowledge from me keeps me happy.
It seems to me that the days are just going by slower and slower. When I get out of the office I'm fine but sitting here makes me even more tired than I really am. I came in early today so I can leave earlier thinking ' oo my day will go by faster! ' then I realized its still the same amount of hours.
Right now I am working on getting together information on fish in each country. It's really hard to find all this information and even harder to sit still all day to find it, but I'm dealing.
My research work is only half way done but slowly and surely I'm getting all of it.
Soon Carrie and I will be putting graphs together and picture to post on the COSEE website so that will be good.
I've also talked to some people around the world but none of them have seemed to be any help to me, I even tried the myspace route and idk if they think I'm a stalker or just don't like Americans but all I want to do is find out what they really think about what's going on, if they have any idea. One guy from Kuwait tried to help me but then ended up saying he wasn't real big into science so he couldn't help me. IT'S NOT ALL SCIENCE, you don't have to know science to have thoughts about your country's standings.
Anyway, thats what I have to say today. I was trying to pass by more time doing this but I haven't really done much else.
So until next time.
